Don't miss an unforgettable evening to benefit Meadowlark Memory Program!
On Friday, March, 29, 2019, beginning at 6 p.m., local artists, Kim Casebeer and Susan Rose, will have a showcase of their works. Both Kim and Susan specialize in Plein Air painting. Plein Air, meaning "open air," allows the artist to experience nature while painting landscapes, flowers, and critters of all sizes. While painting plein air, you may even catch a few natural elements in the wet paint to create a mixed media piece.
While viewing the Silent Auction items from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., enjoy delicious food and drinks. A Live Auction will start at 8:30 p.m. Auction items will include various art, jewlery, decoration pieces, painting experiences and so much more! Something for everyone to appreciate.
Learn about Maude Mitchell, an early influencer on Plein Air painting. Many of Mitchell's paintings present views of Pottawatomie and Wabaunsee counties. The artist sought to preserve the architecture and landscape around her in impressionistic watercolors and oils.
