Meadowlark Hills is currently seeking a full-time housekeeper. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to interact well with our residents. Scheduled days are Monday-Friday, alternate weekends and Holidays. Hours are from 7:00a-2:30p. Benefits available.
The housekeeper is responsible for performing housekeeping duties in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The housekeeper maintains a professional work relationship with residents and knowledgeable of the residents’ responsibilities and rights, including the right to determine their own preferences.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience: Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the job satisfactorily in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations of Meadowlark Hills. Additionally, the Housekeeper must be willing to learn.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Personal Skills: Accurate, detailed, adaptable, and dependable with the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and make safe decisions. Willing and able to work independently with initiative and knowledge of housekeeping practices and procedures Must have good interpersonal, team building, and communication skills. The Housekeeper must be able to adjust to changing situations, while remaining professional. Flexibility is needed in order to assist and serve in other positions when necessary and qualified.
Supervision: This position has no direct supervision of other staff.
Financial Accountability: Responsible for making optimal use of all resources including time, while respecting residents and Meadowlark’s property.
Personal Relations: Honors all resident and family preferences through support, friendship, kindness, sincerity, communication and relationship building. The Housekeeper works closely with all members of the household team, direct supervisors, residents, families and guests.
Working Environment: As a Housekeeper, one may be in close contact with individuals who have infectious diseases. The employee may be subject to the handling of chemicals and infectious waste, as well as being in close contact with dust and other air contaminants, unhygienic conditions, harmful, or potentially hazardous compounds, solutions, and cleaning supplies and equipment. The Housekeeper is exposed to loud noises, including and not limited to: vacuum, floor buffer, carpet cleaning machine, etc. Employee may perform unpleasant duties, such as emptying trash, cleaning and scrubbing floors and bathrooms, washing windows, dishes, etc. The Housekeeper must observe rigid, standardized guidelines to guard against disease and other dangers, and must also wear protective gear when needed. The Housekeeper Guide must be able to work in uncomfortable and emotional situations when needed. The employee primarily works in a climate controlled setting.
Physical Demands: This position requires physical activity to perform the daily duties, and the Housekeeper must be able to move continuously throughout the workday. The Housekeeper spends long periods of time performing routine cleaning duties. Requires the ability to stand, walk, push, pull, carry, move, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, reach, stretch, climb ladders, and lift a minimum of 25lbs, to a minimum height of five feet and a minimum distance of 50 feet. Employee must use universal precautions in all situations. The Housekeeper may need to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. This position requires good oral communication skills and ability to speak clearly, listen attentively with appropriate hearing acuity, and demonstrate patience with residents, families, guests, and other household team members.
Work Hours: Primary work hours are dependent upon the shift(s) needed for full-time and part-time positions. Residents and guests require 24-hour a day care; so the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays is required. No more than 40 hours per week. Employees are on an on-call rotation and subject to emergency call outs on short notice. Hours may vary depending upon resident(s)’ needs. Adjustments to the schedule are made to accommodate these demands when necessary.
