HOGtoberfest and HOG & Kisses Contest

Meadowlark Hills Foundation has partnered with Cox Cares to present the inaugural Hogtoberfest from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16 at Cox Bros. BBQ in Manhattan, Kansas.  Enjoy the $2 pork slider special all day and a hog roast buffet starting at 6 p.m. Dine-in, drive-thru or call ahead your order to Cox Bros. to support this event and for a chance to win a Tailgate package for 10 people.  Proceeds from this event will benefit Meadowlark Hills Foundation’s Good Samaritan Fund.

 In order to create additional opportunities to raise money and awareness for the Good Samaritan Fund, a Hog & Kisses Contest will begin Oct. 1.  Five hog kissing candidates will solicit votes in the form of dollars, with the candidate collecting the most money kissing a baby hog shortly after 6 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the parking lot at Cox. Bros BBQ.  The hog kissing candidates are:

  • Lonnie Baker, Meadowlark Hills CEO
  • Bud Cox, Cox Bros. BBQ co-owner
  • Tim Fitzgerald, Powercat Illustrated and GoPowercat.com editor and publisher
  •  Jackie Hartman, Chief of Staff and Director of Community Relations at Kansas State University
  • Q Country DJs, Q Country Morning Show with Bobby & Corliss and Q Country Afternoon's with DJ Dan
