Iraq: Then & Now

Raad Alani, Ph.D., an assistant professor at Kansas State and a native of Baghdad, will present Iraq: Then and Now at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, in the Community Room. This presentation will be a virtual "tour" of several cities in Iraq, from the north to the south, with general information about the history of one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Alani will also explain the meaning of the Iraqi flag colors, women's fashion, a bit about the oil resources of Iraq, and more. The climate, geography and economy will also be covered, with an update of the current situation, followed by a question and answer session.
