Time to Get Real: Meadowlark Lenten Lecture Series Invites Community Leaders to "Get Real"
February 20, 2025
Local not-for-profit focused on supporting people in living their best lives
Location: Patriot Room at Meadowlark
The Page Turners Book Club is wrapping up our discussion of The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. This coming-of-age story is set in South Carolina, during the height of the Civil Rights movement. The movie The Secret Life of Bees, starring Queen Latifa and Alicia Keys, will be shown in the Grosh Cinema on Tuesday, June 18, at 1, 4, and 7 p.m. We will meet to discuss the book and movie and enjoy a themed snack on Wednesday, June 19, at 11:30 a.m. in the Patriot Room. You do not need to attend each time to participate; come when you are able - whether you have finished the book, are just beginning, or only saw the movie!
Our next book is the non-fiction story, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand. Page Turners is facilitated by Meadowlark Special Programs and is supported by Resident Services Leader, Monte Spiller. If you have any questions or need a copy of the book, please contact Katie at (785) 323-3899 or ksigman@meadowlark.org.
