Grow Green Match Day

Monday, April 22, 2024 - 12:00am to 11:45pm

Location: Prairie Star Restaurant at Meadowlark & Greater Manhattan Community Foundation

The 12th annual Grow Green Match Day, set for Monday, April 22, is a tremendous opportunity for the Manhattan community and Meadowlark Foundation. On that day, donations made through the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation (GMCF) to participating nonprofit agencies will receive a 50% match!

Meadowlark Foundation is joining 89 other local organizations in urging our donors to participate. Gifts to Meadowlark Foundation, and on GMCF’s website, will support scholarships for current Meadowlark employees who would like to further their education to become licensed practical nurses or registered nurses.

As in the past, donations to GMCF-affiliated non-profits may occur in person at Colony Square in downtown Manhattan, online, or by mailing a check, but this year, there’s a fourth option. Give in person at Meadowlark! Meadowlark Foundation has partnered with Greater Manhattan Community Foundation to host a Grow Green Match Day donation station from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at Prairie Star Restaurant. Mitzi Richards, GMCF’s Director of Philanthropy, and Gary Fees, Director of Investment Services at GMCF, plan to be available to accept donations by check, cash, or credit card. Participants may complete a donation form in advance and bring it to Prairie Star, or complete a form at Prairie Star.

GMCF Trustees who live at Meadowlark – Tom Fryer, Jo Lyle, and Linda Weis – have enthusiastically agreed to welcome donors at our Match Day event, and Prairie Star plans to join the fun by offering several “green” specials, which will be available all day, and include: Green Smoothie, Green Dollar Bill Pancakes, Green Goddess Wrap, Fried Artichoke Salad, Shrimp-Stuffed Avocado, Watergate Salad, and Lime Chiffon Pie.

Persons who give at Meadowlark on Match Day may enter a drawing for green-themed prizes. Thank you for considering this new opportunity to support Meadowlark Foundation and other local non-profit organizations.
