Dr. Matthew Floersch, Medical Director

Dr. Matthew Floersch, MD, stands at the forefront of compassionate and comprehensive healthcare as the esteemed Medical Director for Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community. In this pivotal role, he not only oversees the on-campus primary care clinics, CenterPointe Physicians, but also serves as the Medical Director for Meadowlark Home Health, Meadowlark Memory Program, and Meadowlark Parkinson's Program.

Specializing in internal medicine with a dedicated focus on the aging adult, Dr. Matt is a beacon of expertise in assisting patients, their families, and caregivers in navigating the complexities of health. His profound understanding of adult care allows him to address a spectrum of concerns, from disease processes such as diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s to considerations surrounding aging in place and maintaining independence.

Dr. Matt's academic journey led him to the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. Following this, he completed an Internal Medicine residency at John-Hopkins from 2002 to 2005, earning honors as the Division of Geriatrics’ Resident of the Year.

In addition to his role at Meadowlark Hills, Dr. Matt has previously served as a PACE Provider for Midland Care in Topeka, KS. A fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Matt is also an active member of both the Kansas and Riley County Medical Societies.

Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Matt finds strength and support in his family. In 2000, he married his wife, Karlene, a Registered Nurse who played a crucial role in the establishment of Dr. Matt's private practice in Manhattan. Karlene now dedicates her time to being a full-time mom to their five children. Originally from Clay Center, Kan., the Floersch family has found their home in Manhattan, where Dr. Matt's commitment to healthcare excellence is not only a profession but a calling to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities alike.
