Labor Day

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day (the first Monday of September), is a product of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of the American worker. A represents an annual tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of the United States.

For many, Labor Day weekend signifies the end of summer and the last “hoorah” before buckling down for the cooler seasons full of school days, extra-curricular commitments and the holiday bustle. The Duggans are off on their second-annual Guge Family Lake Vacation with my parents, siblings and cousin. We are excited to spend the weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks relaxing, swimming, fishing, napping and eating delicious food!

Many offices on the Meadowlark Hills campus will be closed on Labor Day, including the Physician’s office, Finance office and Home Health office. However, the Hospitality Desk will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Verna Belle’s hours will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Prairie Star Restaurant will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

See you next week, thanks for stopping by!
