Local not-for-profit focused on supporting people in living their best lives
The Meadowlark Hills 2014 Winter Ball is set for Saturday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Community Center, including the Community Room, Game Room, and Prairie Star Restaurant. The Community Center will be transformed into the elegant ballroom to host Winter Ball. All residents and staff are invited.
Last fall, Meadowlark Hills residents had the opportunity to submit a ballot for theme ideas. The winning theme is “Purple and Pearls.” Elegant purple decorations draped in strands of pearls will set the stage for this formal event. Feel free to dress the part in your purple and pearls!
Save room for heavy appetizers, a cash bar and ballroom dancing! The menu includes: shrimp cocktail with cocktail sauce, assorted pinwheels, chicken satays with peanut sauce, spinach and ham and cheese quiche, bacon wrapped water chestnuts and sweet and sour meatballs. For dessert, indulge in raspberry blondies, lemon bars and cream puffs.
Enjoy music provided by, not one, but two live bands. Beginning at 6 p.m., The Thundercats, led by Jim Reed, will play in the Community Room. The Thundercats specialize in 1920s swing and ballroom dancing music. Simultaneously, The Mainstreet Band will be performing in the Prairie Star Restaurant. The Mainstreet Band is a cover band that will bring sock-hop favorites from the 1950s and 1960s. Feel free to mingle between both bands throughout the night!
No registration is required for this free event. You may come and go as you please.
The Winter Ball is always a spectacle of the season. Oh, what an enchanting night it will be!
